In My Mailbox: Week Two

In My Mailbox was created by The Story Siren. In My Mailbox is where you can tell your readers what you got in the mail that week. Well, the important things like books, that is.

What is the contents of my mailbox this week you ask?

Well...

On Tuesday, I got six books from Amazon that I ordered!

Cracked up to Be by Courtney Summers
(Released on December 23, 2008)

What's the worst thing you've ever done?
When "Perfect" Parker Fadley starts drinking at school and failing her classes, all of St. Peter's High goes on alert. How has the cheerleading captain, girlfriend of the most popular guy in school, consummate teacher's pet, and future valedictorian fallen so far from grace?
Parker doesn't want to talk about it. She'd just like to be left alone, to disappear, to be ignored. But her parents have places her on suicide watch and her counselors are demanding the truth. Worse, there's a nice guy falling in love with her and he's making her feel things again when she'd really rather not be feeling anything at all.
Nobody would have guesses she'd turn out like this. But nobody knows the truth.
Something horrible has happened, and it just might be her fault.
I love, love, loved this book.

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
(Released on December 26, 2007)

It has been a year of change since Gemma Doyle arrived at the foreboding Spence Academy. Her mother murdered, her father a laudanum addict, Gemma has relied on an unsuspected strength and has discovered an ability to travel to an enchanted world called the realms, where dark magic runs wild. Despite certain peril, Gemma has bound the magic to herself and forged unlikely new alliances. Now, as Gemma approaches her London debut, the time has come to test these bonds.
The Order - the mysterious group her mother was once part of - is grappling for control of the realms, as is the Rakshana. Spence's burned East Wing is being rebuilt, but why now? Gemma and her friends see Pippa, but she is not the same. And their friendship faces its gravest trial as Gemma must decide once and for all what role she is meant for.

I had to order this to complete the owning of the whole series. I've read the first two books, but haven't had the chance to read this one, yet... I can't wait to read it, though! I've curious of what happens to Gemma in this book. I'm sad it's the last book... :(

To Catch a Pirate by Jade Parker
(Released on May 1, 2007)

A beautiful, plucky 17-year-old finds herself aboard a pirate ship where danger lurks in every corner, but a certain dark-eyed pirate in search of buried treasure may just steal her heart.

I heard this was really great from a friend, so I got it! I've been wanting to read it for a while and I can't wait to finally read it! And look at the cover, it looks cool.

Lord of Misrule: A Morganville Vampire Novel-Book 5 by Rachel Caine
(Released date: January 6, 2009)

Master vampire Bishop arrives in Morganville and threatens to abolish all order. But he's not the only threat. Hovering cyclone clouds promise devastation as student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against elements both natural and unnatural. Original.

I have the rest in the series, but haven't read them all yet. :( I only got to read the first half of the first book a while ago. I really hope to read them soon, I want to know what happens! And all the covers are beautiful.

Airhead by Meg Cabot
(Released on May 13. 2008)

Emerson Watts didn't even want to go to the new SoHo Stark Megastore grand opening. But someone needed to look out for her sister, Frida, who crush, British heartthrob Gabriel Luna, would be sining and signing autographs there—along with the newly appointed Face of Stark, teen super model sensation Nikki Howard.
How was Em to know that disaster would strike, changing her—and life as she'd known it—forever? One bizarre accident later, and Em Watts, always the tomboy, never the party princess, is no longer herself. Literally.
Now getting her best friend, Christopher, to notice that she's actually a girl is the least of Em's problems.
But what Em's pretty sure she'll never be able to accept might just turn out to be the one thing that's going to make her dream come true...

I bought this because I reviewed it a couple of weeks ago. It's on my favorites list. I can't wait for it's sequel to come out.

The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
(Released on November 20, 2007)

Beautiful sisters Elizabeth and Diana Holland rule Manhattans social scene, but are soon caught up in a whirlwind of scandal when a family secret threatens their position. This delicious novel is the first of an exciting new trilogy about five compelling teens in 1899 Manhattan, where appearance matters over everything.

I have heard a lot of great things about this series, so I thought I'd give it a try. Plus, look at this cover along with the sequel and prequel of it. The covers are amazing!

On Wednesday, I got one book in the mail from 'Pulse It'.

Privilege by Kate Brian
(Released on December 30, 2008)

One of the most infamous characters from Brian's Private series spins off into her own dark world of privilege. After the death of Thomas Pearson, Ariana Osgood is safely locked away in a mental institution. But she will stop at nothing to break out and rejoin the world of the wealthy.

I got this book from Pulse It. I've heard a lot about the Private Series, but never really saw myself reading them. I've always debated on whether or not to read them. So when I got this book in the mail I was a bit back-in-forth with it. I knew I needed to read it though because it's my Pulse It book and I can't let Pulse it down, so I started reading it. So far it's pretty good and has nearly changed my mind on reading the Private Series. I may read them after all.

So, what did you get in the mail this week?
